Auto-Sent Missing assessment report to families
M
Monroe School District Administrator
It would be helpful to have auto-messaging sent to families for things such as missing assessments.

It would be nice to autocommunicate other things too, like grades or proficiency scores in our skill buckets. Our parents are used to some auto messaging from Skyward.

Late assignments turned in

It would be extremely helpful if teachers were notified about students turning in work after the due date. Students turn in the work and it sits there without teachers being aware something was turned in late.

Hi, Gina! Thanks so much for your feedback. A notification should be posted on your home page when a student submits an assessment. If that is not happening for you, I'd recommend reaching out to our support team through the chat feature. We're happy to investigate for you to make sure you're seeing all of the notifications.

Hello, the home screen is already so over crowed, I am not paying attention to that. However, even if you click on the notification, it does not even take you to that individual students submission. It takes you to the entire class, where I then have to click on the correct assignment and then try to remember which student I was looking for in the first place. It is not helpful at all and a waste of time. I would prefer an email notification of assignments turned in after the due date. If they show up, then let me click right to that students submission instead of having to click 3 more times.

Missing Assignment - Reminders/Notifications

I have struggled communicating/reminding students when they have not completed an assignment. I mark it as missing, and then students forget as more assessments are added and they can no longer see the red missing flag.
I think this could be helped with the following: Students receive an email notification when an assignment is marked as missing. Maybe in addition at the top of their list of assessments, it has a flag with the number of assignments marked as missing at that time?
Parents also receive the same email (this would be an OPT OUT feature)

Send Reminder to All Students with Incomplete Work

I love the to-do list and encourage my students to use it. Unfortunately, many of them forget to check "completed" on lessons and are sometimes late with assessments. I would appreciate a button that would send a reminder to all students with work marked as "missing," "not started", "seen," and/or "in progress."

Love this - It would be great to be able to mass notify easily

Missing Homework Weekly Notification to Family
C
Christina Meyer
Skyward has an option for parents to sign up for weekly emails about missing work. I have not seen this as an option from OTUS. Parents are requesting this option.
Stephanie Baeza, UX Researcher
Thanks for sharing this idea Christina Meyer! Do you happen to know if this option is something family members opt-in or out of? Or do they have no choice? Also, just for context, in your district do family members have Otus accounts? Is this a recent request you've heard from parents (i.e. this school year)?

Christina Meyer
Stephanie Baeza, UX Researcher: We had this as an option in Skyward that parents would opt in. Family members do have OTUS accounts that are linked with their child. I have heard parents discuss this at the end of last year and again this year. It would be a great option for parents. Thanks.

I agree! That is what I got on here to say, also.
